Description

This rich journey will introduce you to the nature, culture, and history of Sri Lanka. A river safari, mangrove swamps, ancient forts, and touching baby turtles – all in one day!

9:00 - Departure from your hotel lobby.

• Madu Ganga River Safari (approx. 3 hours). Thrilling motorboat ride among islets and mangrove swamps. You can see a Buddhist temple here. Cold, visit a cinnamon plantation island and try a unique «fish massage» – a fish pedicure. Monitor lizards, monkeys, squirrels, and even small crocodiles inhabit the river and its banks. This is a true introduction to the wildlife of Sri Lanka!
• Gemstone mines. Sri Lanka has long been famous for its sapphires and rubies. On the excursion, you will see the process of mining and processing precious stones, and you will also be able to purchase unique pieces directly from the artisans.
• Turtle farm. A touching place where the seven species of sea turtles found on the island are cared for. Here you can see baby turtles, hold them in your arms, and take memorable photos.
• Walk through Fort Galle. A medieval fort built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch and British. The old town within the city walls features charming streets, a lighthouse, bastions, and a clock tower. The atmosphere of colonial history and beautiful ocean views make Galle a must-visit destination.

16:00 - Return to the hotel.
