Description
8:00 departure from the hotel. Departure to the oldest city in Malaysia (160 km from Kuala Lumpur) - the legendary colonial Melakka. In 2008, the urban center of Melakka was inscribed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco on July 8. It is a city for romantics and for history buffs. Malacca is the most famous, for its historical past, state of Malaysia. It was the Malacca Sultanate that in the 15th century was the largest trading port in Southeast Asia, controlling territories from Southern Thailand to Northern Sumatra, and the first Malay principality to officially embrace Islam. Malacca was once ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch and British, who left behind unique cultural monuments of the colonial powers. Fortress forts, ancient churches, antique shops - hundreds of tourists flock to Malacca every day to get a glimpse of them. Around 15:00 return to the hotel.
During the tour, we will see:
- Stadhuys Town Hall, a complex of pink and red Dutch administrative buildings from the 17th century
- St Paul's Church (16th century)
- Fort A' Famosa or Porta de Santiago (Fort A' Famosa or Porta de Santiago) 16th century
