Description

9:00 AM departure from the hotel. River safari on the Madu River (3 hours) — boat ride with visits to small islands. You will see the Buddhist temple Kohduwa and visit an island with cinnamon plantations. If desired, you can experience fish massage — a peeling session with fish. The Madu River and its banks are home to various wildlife, including monitor lizards, small monkeys, squirrels, and small crocodiles. The riverbanks are covered with mangrove groves. Visit gem mines — here you can see how precious stones are mined and processed. Turtle Farm — during a guided tour of the farm, you can see all seven species of sea turtles found in Sri Lanka, touch small turtles, and take photos. A stroll through Galle Fort. Galle Fort is a medieval fort that was initially Portuguese, then Dutch, and later British. The old town located within the fort, protected by high walls, is an excellent place for walking tours. The main attractions of Galle Fort include the clock tower, bastions, and lighthouse. Return to the hotel around 4:00 PM.
